Working on slotting in some characters into my new scenes. I’m starting to feel good about the change of art direction.
Put together a fun new skill, something for the endgame.

Playing around with the main menu instead doing other things I should probably be doing.
In an effort to make the board state more interesting, I’ve implemented various surfaces that you can create. Currently you can spawn sticky liquid, set tiles ablaze, and raise up spikes to slow down, burn, and bleed out your opponents. This opens up a whole new range of card possibilities that should hopefully make the game more fun overall.
Just about done with the main gameplay loop, now I just need to start adding more actual content.
Rather than add a traditional overworld map to handle encounters, I added something a little different. The idea is that the player has a set of firewalls to overcome in order to defeat the big bad enemy. Each firewall has a set of encounters to choose from, and beating the encounter brings you one layer close to your destination.
I think this is my first ever real cutscene I’ve made. It’s meant to introduce the player to the corruption that is attacking the system that you’re designed to defend.
